The Näak Sustainability The Näak Sustainability

The fuel we choose can make a positive impact for our planet and our communities

Global warming is hitting us more and more. We see its effects everywhere: collapsing glaciers, increased heat waves, more droughts. As athletes, the climate influences our communities and our practice of sport.

The Mission

Näak is committed to making the most sustainable sports nutrition products on earth. Preserving our playground and our communities has been central to Näak's mission since day 1. Because we depend on nature and people, from our first breath. From choosing sustainable protein and responsible sourcing, to our B Corp Certification, climate protection and giving back to communities, everything we do is designed to preserve our playground and create a positive impact for generations to come.

Our commitments to reduce our environmental footprint.

Certified Corporation

Certified B

Näak has been a Certified B Corp since 2021. The B Corp certification is only given to companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental accountability. We achieved this credential by reaching the highest standards to impact our employees, communities, and the environment positively.🌱

Sustainable Protein

We use only plant-based and cricket-based protein because they use fewer natural resources and are less polluting. Plant-based proteins produce 11x times less greenhouse gases than meat protein. Cricket farming requires 13x less land and 2,000x less water than livestock farming.

Upcycled ingredients

Upcycled ingredients

Upcycling minimises waste being sent to landfill and reduces the need for production using new raw material, which means a reduction in air pollution, water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. We're using upcycled certified maple and barley rice in our products and aim to increase the use of upcycling in our list of ingredients to reduce our carbon footprint.

Sustainable Packaging

Our commitment to the planet does not stop with our list of ingredients. By 2025, we plan to make our packaging 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable. Our goal is to reduce the need for raw materials to be extracted and processed into new packaging materials. Reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions while conserving natural resources such as energy and water.

Giving Back Athlete

Giving Back

At Näak, we recognize the impact of climate change and deforestation for our communities. We actively work with high-impact partners such as Protect Our Winters (POW) Canada to preserve our playground throughout North America.

  • Donating 5% of our revenues to POW in November to protect our winters
  • Helping clean up the trails with POW in Canada so everyone can be safe
  • Partnership with Moisson Montreal on donating Näak bars to people in need

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our impact extends beyond sustainability. Näak is an open and inclusive employer that values diversity of background and voices. We strive to create a company culture where all employees feel seen, heard, and valued. Our strong HR policies help support a healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment that meets or exceeds the highest labor standards in Canada.
