I used to love these bars, but lately I was having DI after my long runs and it took me a while to pinpoint it to the bars.
If I'm not mistaken, chicory root fiber was added to the ingredient as it contains inulin, whose effect is to slow down carbohydrates absorption. In my case it leads to unpleasant bloating, not something I'm found of during an ultra.
I guess YMMV.
Otherwise, texture is great, they are soft enough that they can be consumed on the fly and taste is not to bad either.
